Introduction
 he two documents,
Justice in the World and Promotion of Justice
and Peace, are basic to our JPIC ministry.
- The bishops gathered at the 1971 Synod of Catholic bishops
inspired by the spirit and documents of the Second Vatican Council,
issued the document Justice in the World, which stimulated many
other documents and movements within the Catholic Church in the
field of Justice and Peace.

- Our 12th General Chapter in 1982 inspired by the document of
this synod of bishops issued its final document The Promotion of
Justice and Peace in Solidarity with the Poor in the Light of the
Constitution 112, which in turn became the basic SVD document in the
field of JPIC ministry. It also includes the resolution to establish
the office of JPIC coordinator on both provincial and generalate
levels.

Perhaps we need to go back to these documents and reread them in
the light of today’s world issues. They have not lost anything from
their original importance. It is always good to go back to our roots.

Introducción
 os dos documentos,
“Justicia en el mundo” y “Promoción de la
Justicia y la Paz”, son básicos para nuestro trabajo en JUPIC.
- Los obispos se reunieron en el Sínodo de 1971 inspirados por el
Espíritu y por los documentos del Vaticano II y publicaros el
documento “Justicia en el mundo”, que inspiró otros muchos
documentos y movimientos dentro de la Iglesia en el campo de la
Justicia y la Paz.

- Nuestro Capítulo General XII, de 1982, inspirado por el
documento de este Sínodo de Obispos sacó su documento final “La
promoción de la Justicia y la Paz en solidaridad con los pobres a la
luz de la Constitución 112”, que a su vez se convirtió en un
documento básico de la SVD en el campo del ministerio de JUPIC.
También incluye la resolución para establecer la oficina del
Coordinador de JUPIC en los niveles del Generalato y de las
Provincias.

Quizá necesitamos volver a estos documentos y releerlos a la luz de
los temas del mundo actual. No han perdido nada de su importancia
original. Siempre es bueno volver a las raíces.
