Today, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI named

Fr. Michael Blume, SVD,
(46 68 69 72 72)

Apostolic Nunzio to Togo and Benin with the title of Archbishop.

Fr. Blume was missionary and then Provincial Superior in Ghana from his ordination in 1972.

He came to Rome as Secretary General from 1990-1992. Since 1995 he has worked for the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People, serving as the Council's Undersecretary for the last years.
