Fr. Leopoldo Jaucian nominated bishop of Bangued

he Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Fr. Leopoldo Jaucian (Provincial Superior of PHC), bishop of the diocese of Bangued, Abra, Philippines. The appointment was announced at noon on January 5, 2007.

The bishop-elect was born in Santa, Philippines, on July 7, 1960. He did his novitiate at Quezon City and went to Taiwan, where he did his OTP and theological studies. He was ordained priest on March 12, 1988, at Urdaneta, Philippines. He received his First Assignment to Taiwan, but was called back to the Philippines to work for the overseas Chinese in the St. Jude Parish and School, in Manila. He was elected the Provincial Superior of PHC in 2005 and took part in the recently held 16th General Chapter of the Society.
